Legal & privacy
Your family's trust, in plain language.
We work with children's learning data, so we hold ourselves to a high bar — COPPA and FERPA compliant, encrypted, and never sold. Here's exactly how it works.

Privacy Policy
Jalanea Tutor collects only what we need to personalize learning and show you progress: account details, a learner's grade and learning profile, session activity, and the mood and skill data generated during lessons. We use this to adapt lessons, generate reports, and improve the platform — nothing else.
What we collect
- Account information — name, email, and role (parent, tutor, or student).
- Learning data — assessments, lesson activity, skills, and progress.
- Session context — mood check-ins and sensory settings, to adapt lessons.
Your rights
You can view, export, or permanently delete your family's data at any time from your account settings, or by emailing us. We honor deletion requests promptly and confirm when they're complete.
Terms of Service
By using Jalanea Tutor, you agree to use the platform for its intended purpose — supporting a learner's education — and to keep your account credentials secure. Parents and guardians are responsible for the accounts of children in their care.
Subscriptions & trials
Your free trial runs for 7 days with full access and requires no credit card. Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled; you can cancel anytime and keep access through the end of your billing period. We'll always email before any change to your plan.
Acceptable use
Please don't misuse the platform, attempt to access other families' data, or resell content without permission. Tutors publishing to the marketplace agree to our content and quality guidelines.
COPPA & FERPA
Because we serve children, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and align with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Children never create their own accounts — a parent, guardian, or tutor sets them up and controls access with a starter code.
We collect the minimum necessary from a child, use it solely to deliver and improve their learning, never show them third-party advertising, and give the supervising adult full rights to review, export, or delete it.
